last weekend, we journeyed an hour
away to an olive farm for a human rights weekend. I was completely unsure what
was going to occur. upon arriving, I was dazzled by the beauty
everywhere.
during various times throughout the
weekend, I had the opportunity to listen. I learned so much just by listening
to others. many people had varying opinions than my own. for example, I
found myself in a debate defending democracy over dictatorship. for
approximately twenty minutes, we went back and forth explaining our views.
however we decided to end with an impasse. over the weekend, I began to realize
my own interest in human rights.
