My name is Libby DiDomizio, I am an Allied Health
major with a concentration in Public Health, and I am a junior here at UConn.
The reason I decided to participate in this program is because I wanted to
study abroad, but I also wanted that experience to have an impact on my career.
The South Africa study abroad program involves the participants being placed in
an internship, which I hope mine to be at a hospital. I believe this will give
me hands on experience that will benefit me greatly once I move on after
college. What I hope to accomplish through this program is not only gaining
valuable experience that will help me in my career, but also to be immersed in
a whole new culture and learn from and about the world outside the U.S.
borders. Knowing that I have been accepted into this program is
definitely a great feeling because I know I’m about to have the most amazing
experience of my life! There is no opportunity more incredible than this and I
know it will change who I am as a person for the better. This program has so
much to offer and I absolutely cannot wait to take full advantage! I just wish
our depature date was sooner, I’m ready to go!
